Our taster sessions run from 1pm until 4pm and cost £50 which includes refreshments. They take place on Saturdays and Sundays and we have four each month.
Please get in touch for details of the next availability.
We suggest you arrive approximately 10 minutes before the session is due to begin, so you can meet the tutor and put your bags/coats away. Everything will be provided for you, but if you have an apron to bring that would be great. You will have a quick tour of the studio before being shown a variety of different hand building techniques.
Next you will get the chance to make something. A mug is a good starting point and is an enjoyable way to help you get used to handling clay. You can also try out some different ways of adding texture and decoration to personalise your work.
After a quick break for refreshments (tea, coffee etc and cakes/biscuits) you will have a go on the potters' wheel. We have 12 wheels, and this is a really fun introduction to throwing.
Any work you make during the taster session, that you wish to keep, will be fired and can be picked up at a later stage. Please note this is a long process and will probably take up to a month to be ready for collection. We will get in touch once your work is ready. Unfortunately, due to such a high demand for taster sessions, we can only keep finished work for two months.
Full payment is required one week before the day.
